Patients with congenitally missing teeth often require coordinated care among multiple dental specialists, including the orthodontist, periodontist, and restorative dentist. Proper planning is essential to ensure that the implant and final crown can be placed in the correct position.
For example, one patient completed two years of orthodontic treatment in California and later received an implant from a periodontist without restorative planning. When the patient visited our office three years later for the implant crown, we found that there was not enough space for proper restoration.
During treatment, Dr. Li and Dr. Yang evaluated the case together to assess the space and coordinate the next steps.
